Frederick B. LaVan, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Frederick LaVan is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and received his medical degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Following his graduation from medical school, he completed a general surgery residency at Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and plastic surgery residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. While in his residency at Graduate Hospital, Dr. LaVan served as Chief Resident and Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. LaVan also completed a Research Fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco, California.

Dr. LaVan has been in practice since 1994. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). Dr. LaVan has co-authored several articles published in professional journals.

Dr. LaVan is the Medical Director for World Walk Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization that trains surgeons and health care providers in third world countries and has traveled to provide care to these patients. His interests include photography, target shooting and martial arts.

Thomas J. Steffe, M.D., F.A.C.S

Dr. Thomas Steffe is a graduate of the University of LaSalle with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. Following his graduation from medical school, he completed a general surgery residency at Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and plastic surgery residency at University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.

Dr. Steffe began his plastic surgery career in 1996 and in 2000 he and Dr. LaVan became partners to form Plastic & Cosmetic Surgical Group of New Jersey, P.C.. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). Dr. Steffe has co-authored several articles published in professional journals.

Dr. Steffe is Medical Director of The Center for Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Kennedy, Kennedy Health System, Washington Township, NJ, and Inspira Wound Care Woodbury, formerly Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Woodbury, NJ. He has participated in volunteer medical missions in Angola, Africa.
